What: Every year the DSPHC volunteers to run a water station at the Coastal Delaware Running Festival. If you helped in the past, you know it is a lot of fun (even though it is early)! You get a t-shirt, you get to go to the post-race afterparty, and you can help runners have a phin-tastic race! So, come out and volunteer to hand out water and Gatorade, cheer on the runners, and have a great time!
When: April 16th - it is an early morning, and I won't pretend it isn't. But we will have music playing and maybe even some coffee and donuts to keep that energy level up! Our water stations help runners in three races - marathon, 1/2 marathon, and 9k. The marathon starts at 7:00am so volunteers will need to be there between 6:00 and 6:30 to get everything prepped and ready to go. The majority of the runners will be through by about 9:30, but there will be a few slower 1/2 marathoners passing through after that. Hopefully we should be finished around 10:30. Annnnd...then we get to head to the afterparty when we are done! It is lots of fun!
Where: Gordon's Pond Parking Area, Cape Henlopen State Park in Rehoboth Beach. There should be plenty of parking and there will be porta-potties at our station (along with the park-maintained ones).
